Sprockets

Lads are these sprockets serviceable or do they need changing out. I know the cam sprocket can be had but what about the oil pump drive sprocket??

They’re not under a great deal of load and it’s taken the best part of 60 years to get that worn, I’d say they were good enough for another 60 years.

How many teeth must turn before the rotor moves ? If it is more than one tooth then it is recommended that both the chain and sprockets should be replaced . That said as Grunt suggests they will probably last longer than most of us .

That’s a new engine and it’s always in the back of my mind but maybe it’s me over thinking things again. The teeth look uniform enough but should they have a flat edge to them?.

Old Geoff says that if the points of the teeth are sharp and pointed the sprockets should be changed.

Well that is the case for the cam and injection pump,The later could be a problem.
