Dozer blade

Post by foz » Fri May 15, 2020 4:46 am

I have been after a dozer blade for many years and finally picked this one up in central NSW. Had to buy it attached to its tractor.

Unfortunately the tractor has no brakes, no hydraulics, no compression.

It does have a nice patina with very little rust.

I don't know the make or model of the blade as there are only two rivets where the badge used to be.

It is 6 feet wide.

Good score, tractor looks ok, if the price is right. You don't see many of those front blades around.

No Brakes, No Compression, No Hydraulics..... No Problem.... Drive it, like you stole it .....

Nice find foz! I had a look through my implement manuals and have one for a Ferguson Earth Mover. The Manual I have doesn't give the implement a code/number like most, not sure why this is. I also don't know how many variants or modifications were made to this implement, but other companies did make very close copies of Ferguson's designs.

The Ferguson Earth Mover I have a manual for has a 5ft blade and had the option to adjust the angle and tilt.

Do I spy a Ferguson Post Hole Borer on the trailer too?!

Yes, got a good package deal ($2500) for the tractor, blade, Ferguson 2 furrow mouldboard plough and Ferguson post hole digger. I am pleased with the condition of the tractor because it only has light surface rust having spent it’s life in a hot, dry environment.
The blade is not the Ferguson Earth Mover in the manual. That is the one I would have preferred, but never came across one. I agree it’s likely to be a copy by a local company.

Hey theblacksmith, does that Earth Mover instruction book have a publication date on it? Might help me date mine. And yes that is a Ferguson Post Hole Borer on the trailer. It’s in nice condition but haven’t tried it yet.

Nice package deal.
Look at manual section of forum.
One may have been downloaded.
Pretty sure a plough and borer one has been downloaded.
