I found some info on this web page. You have to scroll down a bit, but the information is there.

http://tractorspares1.cloudhostedresour ... th=1280#65

J - industrial
M - dual transmission
Y - differential lock

1964 serial numbers seem to start at 593028 and run to 614024, the last tractor produced, so it would appear that yours is from 1964.

The other number I'm not absolutely sure about, but it seems to be the intake manifold part number.

If I understand your question correctly, you're talking about the rear engine seal and/or the transmission oil seal, both of which can let oil leak into the bell housing. I believe that you will need to split the tractor to change either of these, and you can check the clutch at the same time, which may be contaminated with oil, if the leak is important.

Many people don't worry about it if it's only a small leak, (I'm one of them as I have a very small leak) and if the clutch is functioning normally, as it may not be worth the trouble of opening the tractor up.

That said, there are many, many people on the forum who have much more experience than I do, and who may be able to advise you better :smile1:

I'm glad that I could help with the serial number - I didn't need spanners for that! :P
