Bonjour from Taz.

Hi all. I live in Haute Vienne in France and have been using a little orange micro-tractor to top my paddock but keep seeing Fergies at village fetes and have finally given in to the urge to get hold of one. (Roughly translated means I have persuaded she who must be obeyed that the wider wheelbase on the Fergie would be a much safer bet on our far from flat paddock, than continuing to use my little paddy-field tractor. Like many others on this forum I suspect I have had a succession of old Land Rovers over the years so this seems a logical progression for me.
I have found a 1947 beauty locally for what I think is a good price. Everything seems to be working ok and I'm pretty sure I will buy it. It has the Z120 engine and I would really appreciate any pointers I should be aware of before I complete the purchase.

A Fergie is a great choice Taz , welcome to the forum
Be aware that the Continental engine will not have the readily available parts backup that the Standard Vanguard engine has , in other aspects all the rest of the tractor is much the same .

Welcome to the forum. I think you are from the same part of France as Hal Mercier.
If you have a hard time with Z 120 parts, there are suppliers in the US.
